Dec 15, 2021 KC Hurst, chief marketing, communications, and digital officer, joined the team in November 2021 to lead the Marketing and Communications department for Crystal Bridges and the Momentary, with an added focus on digital innovation and strategy. The role was previously held by Diane Carroll, who recently became Chief Communications Officer for the Alice L. Walton Foundation. Hurst guides the day-to-day operations of the museum’s creative, public relations, marketing, digital media, and video production teams and will be integral to building on the museum’s brand strategy and audience expansion efforts. She also serves on the museum’s Strategy team which oversees the vision and initiatives for Crystal Bridges and the Momentary. Hurst joins the team from the Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) where she served most recently as its chief marketing and communications officer. She joined the DMA in 2018 as its director of marketing and communications. During her tenure there, she drove audience growth through multichannel exhibition and program marketing campaigns, brand positioning initiatives, community partnerships, and social media strategies. Importantly, she led the museum’s digital engagement strategy through the pandemic, with many of those tactics remaining in place today. Prior to her work in Dallas, Hurst spent nearly a decade in higher education marketing and communications with the Austin Community College District where she led a number of successful digital marketing, community engagement, and strategic recruitment and brand awareness programs. Hurst graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso.
