May 29, 2019 Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art ushers in June with a new exhibition, concerts, parties, performances, guest speakers, and workshops. Color Field, Crystal Bridges’ outdoor sculpture exhibition, is open from June 1 to September 30, 2019. Developed by Crystal Bridges associate curator of contemporary art, Allison Glenn, the exhibition features artists that employ lush colors and enlarged forms against the backdrop of the museum’s North Forest and select locations in the museum. Inspired by the color field style of painting, Color Field relies on abstraction, heavy color and surfaces devoid of representation. Exhibition tickets for both Color Field and Nature’s Nation are $16 and $12 for just Color Field from September 11-30. Members and youth 18 and under get in free. Every Saturday, from June 1 to July 27 at 7 pm, the Coca Cola Stage hosts bands and artists from all over the country, creating a soundwave of blues, indie, folk, and more.
