Internships FAQ
- Overall, what can I expect as an intern?
The Crystal Bridges and the Momentary internship program works hard to ensure that in addition to making meaningful connections with our team members, our interns are able to connect with the region and various spaces throughout our campuses. Internship programming is intentional and aims to provide insight on how Crystal Bridges and the Momentary operate internally and impact the community, as well as insight into the non-profit world. Not to mention, we always have lots of snacks! - What is the annual availability for internships?
There are three internship cohorts offered throughout the year during spring, summer, and fall. The spring cohort runs from January–April (13–14 weeks), with applications open from September–November. The summer cohort runs from June–July (8 weeks), with applications open from December–March. The fall cohort runs from the end of August–November, with applications open from February–May. - How long do internships typically last and how many hours per week are they?
During the spring and fall cohorts, internships can last anywhere from 13-14 weeks and will be expected to work no more than 15 hours a week for high school students, 20 hours a week for undergraduates, and 25 hours a week for graduate-level students. During the summer, interns can work up to 40 hours a week for up to eight weeks. - What compensation is offered?

- Are residential internships offered throughout the year?
Currently, residential internships are offered solely in the summer. - What kind of housing is provided for residential interns?
Housing will either be on the Crystal Bridges grounds or in a property acquired via Airbnb. Interns are housed with other interns in our program. While in the residence, interns are expected to abide by the rules either set in place by Crystal Bridges and the Momentary or Airbnb. - How is relocation assistance provided?
Once an applicant has accepted their position, they are responsible for covering any expenses for transportation to Bentonville, AR. After moving into their residence, interns must attend four full working days during the first week of their internship program and submit a reimbursement request. Reimbursements will be disbursed tax-free and will be recorded on the intern’s W2. - Is transportation provided from the residence to the Crystal Bridges campus?
Whether residing in a house on campus or at an Airbnb, interns will be within one mile of the campus. Each residence is provided a bike and bike lessons with a partnering organization to ensure biking competency and comfortability. Interns that do not have transportation will be placed on campus and will be able to walk to the museum as well as to local shops and grocery stores. - How do you determine who is placed in a specific residence?
One month before the summer cohort begins, residential interns will receive a questionnaire via email that is similar to a questionnaire a college dorm would send to incoming freshmen. The questionnaire results are sent directly to the intern manager and placements will be provided one week before the internship program begins.
- What documents are required for my application?
Your resume and a cover letter are required for every application. Applications without a cover letter will not be considered. - Can I apply for available internship positions by submitting my resume and cover letter to internships@crystalbridges.org?

For example, if you apply for a position that is community-based, tell us what kind of person you are. Are you a people person? Do you value relationships? Do you understand the importance of partnerships? Do you like meeting people where they are? Tell a story about your passion and your goals and how we can help you achieve it. - I missed the deadline. Can I still apply?
