Drop by the galleries Sunday, July 17, and discover new perspectives on The Dirty South and the museum’s permanent collection! As part of The Dirty South Weekend, we’re hosting free, drop-in artist talks throughout the day by artists featured in our temporary exhibition The Dirty South: Contemporary Art, Material Culture, and the Sonic Impulse. Artists will share unique perspectives on their own works, highlighting the behind-the-scenes inspirations and stories that shaped the work, as well as speaking on works in the permanent collection.

About The Dirty South Weekend

For one weekend only, July 15 – 17, we’re bringing together hip-hop artists, poets, scholars, and more for a multi-day event designed to explore the themes of The Dirty South: Contemporary Art, Material Culture, and the Sonic Impulse like never before. Come immerse yourself in the sounds and stories of The Dirty South as we celebrate a century of southern Black culture.
