Trails and Grounds open daily sunrise to sunset.
James Turrell has referred to himself as a “sculptor of light.” Precisely crafted from native stone, Turrell’s Skyspace, The Way of Color, provides a view of the sky altered by stunning lighting effects at dawn and dusk that change with the light outside, creating a unique experience for each viewer.
The Skyspace opens for the sunrise experience every morning approximately 30 to 45 minutes before sunrise. The sunset experience begins approximately 10 minutes before sunset. Each experience takes about 30 to 40 minutes. Precise times vary according to the time of year. Seating in the Skyspace is limited. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to secure a seat.
