Presented in collaboration with Northwest Arkansas Jazz Society, join us for an evening of Brazilian and Latin jazz in the forest with renowned Kansas City group Sons of Brasil! Sons of Brasil is a popular jazz group that has performed every week since their inception in 1991, playing Brazilian jazz with a flavor and passion found at a nightclub in Ipanema or Leblon. The Sons of Brasil invite you to sample these sounds, and we dare you to try and stay in your seat all night!
Opening band: Los Veleros
Los Veleros is a Latin jazz ensemble assembled by guitarist William Reyes. A classically trained guitarist who is equally comfortable with jazz, Bossa Nova, Latin, pop, and experimental music, William taught himself Spanish guitar at a young age and has composed, arranged, recorded, and performed extensively. Through it all, his precision, harmonic clarity, and soulful interpretations shine through. Reyes performs locally in Northwest Arkansas as a solo classical guitarist and is also involved with several other musical groups in the area including Los Veleros, Trio de Janeiro, and the pop band, Jukeboxx. He has performed nationwide with The OneUps, and they have sold well over 10,000 CD’s world wide.
