Are you a socially-minded artist ready to make a difference in your community? Are you passionate about the needs and future of Northwest Arkansas? Are you searching for a paid opportunity to engage the public and spark real relationships?
Then welcome aboard—you’re in the right place.
We are looking for a socially engaged artist to join the second year of our Arts and Social Impact Accelerator Program (ASAP) partnership with Ozark Regional Transit Authority (ORT). This paid, contracted opportunity is for artists or creative community organizers who are residents of Northwest Arkansas and are available throughout 2022 to help address social issues by planning and implementing community art engagements and practices. The engagements to be developed include listening sessions and community events that will culminate in a community-led public transportation festival.
If you’re interested in learning more, please join us for a virtual info session via Zoom on Monday, January 24 or Tuesday, January 25. The info session will share an overview of the call for artists and the scope of the opportunity, including highlights of engagements from year 1 and a Q&A session with participants. The session will be facilitated by artist Octavio Logo, Crystal Bridges Director of Community Engagement Sara Segerlin, and Ozark Regional Transit Authority staff.
For more details, including how to submit a letter of interest for an interview, please register for an info session below and read our full call for artists here. Letters of interest are due Monday, February 15, 2022, interviews will be held the week of February 21, and the chosen artist will start on March 1.
Free, tickets required. Register online or by calling Guest Services at 479.657.2335. Once registered, you’ll receive an email with information about the event and the Zoom link for your convenience at a later date.
