Explore the boundaries between abstraction and realism in this afternoon painting workshop with guest artist Oluwatobi Adewumi. Echoing his Connection series, Adewumi will demonstrate how to combine reflective, bold colors and cyclical symmetries to create a unique visual interaction. The technique produces paintings that take on an assembly of organic and mechanical movements through repetition of shapes and lines. During this workshop, each guest will create their own geometry-inspired paintings with step-by-step instruction.
Registration $45 ($40 for members) Register online or by calling Guest Services at 479.657.2335.
Oluwatobi Adewumi is a contemporary artist who focuses on the socio-cultural aspects of his subjects through multimedia drawings and paintings. His work explores his personal journey of being born in Nigeria then moving and assimilating into the American culture in Arkansas.
All workshop materials will be provided. Open to artists of all skill levels—no prior experience necessary.
