Friday Comes on Tuesday, a New Children's Book Featuring Crystal Bridges, Is Now Available

Friday Comes on Tuesday, published by the University of Arkansas Press, is a new, illustrated children’s book featuring Alice Walton’s best friend and beloved dog Friday as he embarks on a day at the museum.

Along the way, he takes photos and says hello to Maman the spider, Rosie the Riveter, George Washington, and many others. The book is written by Darcy Pattison and illustrated by Rich Davis, both based in Arkansas. It is now available for purchase in the Museum Store.

About Friday

On his namesake day in April 2006, Good Friday Walton wandered up to the home of Crystal Bridges founder Alice Walton, and they’ve been best friends ever since. Visitors to Crystal Bridges can enjoy a sculpture of Friday, found on the ledge near the South Lawn. There is a nearby dog fountain, inviting all dogs on the trail to have a drink.

In Alice’s own words, he’s a great reminder that, “if we could all listen and be as sensitive as dogs are to our needs and emotions, the world would be a better place.”
