May 28, 2019 At the Museum There is so much to see during the Summer at Crystal Bridges that it might be difficult to even know where to start. That’s where the Choose Your Own Adventure Summer 2019 Itineraries come in hand! If you are a family who has a day or more to spend at Crystal Bridges, please see the below itinerary to plan your trip to the museum this summer: Choose Your Own Adventure Summer 2019 Itinerary Family, Day or More Day 1 10 am-11 am: Discover 300 years of American art and how artists have portrayed nature over time in Nature’s Nation, located in the Temporary Exhibition Gallery. Be sure to pick up a Family Guide when you first walk in! 11-11:30 am: Grab a mid-morning snack or early lunch at the Coffee Bar. 11:30 am-12:30 pm: Let your kids have a turn at making art! Visit the Studio, our creative and artmaking space for all ages, located across Walker Landing. 12:30-1:30 pm: Explore the galleries and drop in on a gallery conversation or tour. 1:30 pm: Head home for naps OR Stop in for Drop-in Artmaking on the weekends between 1-4 p.m. If it’s Saturday: Come back at 7 pm for the Forest Concert Series + see Color Field at night! Food and drinks will be available at the food truck. OR Sunset: Head to Skyspace: The Way of Color (located on the Art Trail, past the South Lawn) at sunset to watch a light and color show like you’ve never seen, and then make your way back to the museum entrance to sit under Buckyball to witness another magical light show. Day 2 10-11 am: Head up the North Forest for Color Field – you can interact with several of the sculptures, check the labels! 11:30 am-12:30 pm: Grab lunch at Eleven or snacks at the Coffee Bar. If it’s Sunday at 11:30 am: Join us for Buffet Brunch at Eleven! 12:30-1:30 pm: Return to the Studio for more artmaking or explore what you didn’t see on Day 1 in the permanent galleries. 1:30 pm: Head home for naps If it’s Saturday: Come back at 7 pm for the Forest Concert Series + see Color Field at night! If you purchased an exhibition ticket, you can come back within one month of the purchase date and see the exhibition you missed, free of charge.
