6 Things to Do by Bike Around Crystal Bridges

Looking to grease your gears and get out on the trails? Crystal Bridges offers over five miles of trails―most of which are bike-friendly―for you to enjoy both art and nature from your bike!

Discover six things you can do by bike around Crystal Bridges (including a bike ride down to the Momentary):

 1. Visit Crystal Bridges!

Did you know that the Razorback Regional Greenway runs through Crystal Bridges? If you’re planning on biking to the museum, make a plan to come inside! Park your bike at one of the many bike stands on the grounds and take a pit stop at Eleven for lunch or spend some time wandering the galleries in the cool indoors.

Please note that free, timed tickets are required to enter the museum as the number of visitors allowed in the museum is limited. 2021 General admission and exhibition tickets can be booked here.

Crystal Bridges requires visitors and staff to wear face coverings for ages 10 and older. Learn more about our safety measures.

 2. Discover art along the trails

Did you know Crystal Bridges has over five miles of walking and biking trails on its campus? The following trails are bike-friendly: Art Trail, Crystal Bridges Trail, North Forest Trail, North Lawn Trail, and the Orchard Trail. Along the trails, you’ll find over 30 sculptures so you can continue your art exploration in nature…and while biking!

You can learn more about each trail here.

And you can download the trail map here.

 3. Enjoy the trails in bloom

The blooming season at Crystal Bridges is a sight to see! In addition to discovering art, bikers can also enjoy redbuds, dogwoods, wildflowers, and more native flora of the area during the spring and summer months.

Check out our 2021 spring guide for our blooming forecast.

4. If you’re a seasoned biker, try out the All-American Trail

Located alongside the Crystal Bridges Trail, beginning near Compton Gardens, try your hand at the All-American Mountain Bike Trail, featuring elements such as ladder bridges, small rollers, and berms. The trail has been described as “super fun,” “flowy,” and a “star-spangled intro to the Slaughter Pen trail system.” This trail might be a little advanced in some areas for beginners and children.

5. Or try out the Ravine Trail

The newest trail on the Crystal Bridges grounds, the Ravine Trail is a 2100-ft. mountain bike trail that runs through the North Forest. The trailhead begins at the top of the North Forest Trail (near the North Forest Lights entrance kiosk and Amazeum parking lot) and travels down to the Rock Ledge Trail at the north end of the museum.

Trailforks rates this trail as a green, or easy, trail.

6. Bike through downtown Bentonville to the Momentary

The Momentary RODE Bar

1.5 miles south from Crystal Bridges sits the Momentary, our satellite contemporary art space! Located next to 8th St Market, bikers are welcome to ride the Greenway down to the Momentary and admire outdoor visual art projects, or take a break with a refreshing beverage at the outdoor RØDE Bar or Onyx Coffee Lab walk-up window. Bikers can also rent a lane and play a game of bocce ball. Grab a snack or drink before getting back on the trails!
